OTTAWA, ON, February 5, 2004 - Atlantis Scientific Inc. is pleased to announce the recent award of a contract from Natural Resources Canada, Centre for Topographic Information Sherbrooke (CTIS) to produce high resolution elevation data for Devon Island, Nunavut Territory. "This pilot project is key to our involvement in CTIS' massive responsibility and commitment to produce topographic information at 1:50 000 scale (DTED Level 2) for Canada's far north (North of 60 degrees)", says Atlantis' President Patrick McConnell. EOServ's consultants will use Atlantis' EarthView Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) software to produce a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) from spaceborne radar imagery. The project, to be completed by April 2004, involves processing both European Space Agency ERS tandem and Canada's RADARSAT imagery to provide reliable, terrain sensitive data independent of cloud and low-light conditions often found in the Arctic. We are also pleased to involve Viasat Geotechnologies of Montreal as a subcontractor on the project.
